About Compression Therapy

For more than thirty years Wright Therapy Products, Inc. has been a leader in the use of gradient compression therapy for the treatment of:

  • Lymphedema
  • Venous insufficiency
  • Venous ulcers
  • Other edematous conditions

Gradient compression therapy can apply pressure to subcutaneous tissue where much of the fluid may be located in an affected extremity. Treatment with a gradient compression pump may:

  • Promote venous and lymphatic circulation
  • Reduce edema
  • Facilitate the influx of oxygenated blood to promote healing of wounds

Contraindicated conditions include:

  • Decompensated cardiac failure
  • Massive edema of the arms or legs due to congestive heart failure
  • Known or suspected deep vein thrombosis, or thrombophlebitis
  • Any instance where increased venous or lymphatic return is undesirable
