Appliances
The appliance covers the limb to be
treated. Hoses attach to each cell (segment) and
connect to the pump. The pump supplies air to the
boot and fills the cells sequentially – starting
with the distal (hand/foot) cell fills first, moving
up the limb until all the cells are filled. Then
the air exhausts from all the cells in the appliance
simultaneously – this is a rest period when no
pressure is applied to the limb. The filling cycle
begins again and then the rest period – repeating
until the treatment session is over.
The treatment session time is prescribed
by the physician. The pump can be set to turn off when
the treatment is over.
